White Sox Tickets, Stubs, and Memorabilia

My photo
I wanted to start a website highlighting my White Sox ticket collection. However, I think the site will be open to any sort of White Sox collections. I have a true passion for the White Sox and I am originally from the Southside of Chicago on 31st...just short of what will ALWAYS be Comiskey Park on 35th. Primarily, I hope to highlight tickets I have but the site will also highlight some other great White Sox items I have in hopes of sparking some great conversations or memories from White Sox memorabilia. I look forward to meeting new folks who have die hard passion for the White Sox.

The Inaugural Season - NEW Comiskey Park

Here is a great item that I got a while back. I went to quite few opening season games at the new Comiskey Park...I was not overly impressed with the park, the layout, or those ugly blue seats (someone should have fired for that color choice alone). During the opening day game, I purchased this Inaugural Season Yearbook and started getting it signed by the 91 White Sox players in black sharpie marker. I was not really into autographs during this time but I figured why not...I might as well give it a shot. Of course back then...it was EASY to get signatures because the White Sox were not very good back then although we did fall just short of the 1990 playoffs. A few years ago...I got a frame and had it lazer engraved Comiskey Park - Inaugural Season with the Sox logos on it. It really is a nice talking piece to have in my baseball room. I imagine there cannot be too many of these around but perhaps a few others had the same thing in mind that I did at the time.

Although I do NOT agree with the name change of the ballpark...the sponsorship money really helped to re-create the ballpark. The current green seats are outstanding and really compliment the park. Kids fundamentals and of course the centerfield addition make the ballpark look amazing...throw in the recently added statues and brick plaza (my name is on one of those bricks) and you have yourself one great place to have baseball! But with all that said...the opening of that place was tough in light of Camden Yards and the Ballpark in Arlington...it just did not measure up much. However...today...it is home.
