Alright...2006 was our chance to defend the title! 2006 proved to be one of the most frustrating years in White Sox history...partly because we REALLY were GREAT! Similar team to 05...additions of Thome and Vazquez really added something to the squad. BUT the problem was the AL Central was STACKED! Led by the surprise of 2006...the Tigers. EVERYONE competed in our division (except the Royals). We won over 90 games and still lost the division AND fell short of the wild card spot leaving up home without any shot of defending that title.
TOUGH YEAR! Of course ticket prices went up...parking went up...heck what didn't go up that year...ha. Seemed that price of winning only made baseball that much more expensive! Nonetheless...it was a great year! I managed to collect the tickets from that year because they represented something VERY unique...images of the 2005 World Series championship. I have one ticket to each home game played in 06 and a few UNCUT ticket sheets as well. I started collecting anything with the White Sox trophy on it and gathered up the season parking passes and even got my hands on the 2006 Season Ticket Holder Box. Really nice collection to have and I truly enjoy it! The season ticket brochure is also featured in these pictures. Again...as a realistic White Sox fan...I always hope for another title and cheer till I am red or blue in the face...but I know 2005 was a special time and RARE...VERY RARE.
