One of my prized possessions. I got this item at a Chicago auction in the spring of 2006. I was fortunate enough to win it. It was scheduled to be used during game 6 of the World Series but of course the White Sox swept the series. It comes with a certificate of authenticity from Major League Baseball.
As you can see in the pictures...it still has the brace to be inserted into the ground. UNREAL ITEM!!! You can almost smell the championship on the base. HA! Of course after the title drought ended...I started to collect every and anything I could from the 2005 season of dreams for the White Sox and their fans. I managed to also get my hands on one of the ceremonial home plates used during the opening pitch. I will post that later for viewing.
But again...this is just another great moment in White Sox history. Think about Paulie running the bases on one of these bad boys...WHAT A YEAR!!!! It serves as one of my center pieces to celebrate the 05 season. I am looking to add one more to my collection but I have not been able to locate one. If you happen to know of one or want to get rid of one...let me know. I would love to take it off your hands.
